GentleYAG® Skin Tightening

The GentleYAG® laser, originally developed for hair and spider vein removal, is now available for skin tightening and rejuvenation. This powerful laser system is safe for all skin types. GentleYAG® tightens collagen fibers in your skin to improve texture and appearance. Results are long-lasting, and you can undergo touch-ups to maintain the results. The treatment is non-invasive and requires no downtime. Are You a Candidate for GentleYAG®?

If you want to address fine lines and wrinkles - especially those that occur on the face - you may be a good candidate for GentleYAG®. Unlike other laser skin treatments, GentleYAG® is safe and effective for patients of all skin tones. However, for optimal results, you should still have a certain amount of skin elasticity. You should also be in good health with no untreated infections, eczema, or related skin conditions.

It is important to understand that if you have severely sagging skin or very deep wrinkles, GentleYAG® may not be an effective solution. Dr. Yee will assess your needs at your initial consultation. If you are not a candidate for laser treatment, she may recommend an alternative procedure, such as a facelift.

The GentleYAG® Treatment

Before your treatment, Dr. Yee may apply a topical numbing cream to your skin. Next, she will apply short pulses of laser energy at the treatment area. The laser will heat the deeper layers of your skin, promoting the production of new collagen. Collagen is the primary connective protein in the human body. It retains moisture to keep your skin smooth and firm. By helping your body to produce more collagen, GentleYAG® can provide long-lasting, natural-looking results.

The entire GentleYAG® treatment will typically take about 45 minutes to an hour. Immediately after your procedure, you can return to work and other daily activities. For complete results, you will typically require multiple treatments spaced several weeks apart. During your consultation, Dr. Yee will evaluate your skin and take note of your goals to recommend a treatment plan.

Benefits and Risks of GentleYAG®

GentleYAG® involves few risks. After treatment, you may experience some slight redness and inflammation. Fortunately, these side effects usually subside within a few days.

Meanwhile, GentleYAG® can provide several important benefits:

  • Minimal discomfort: During treatment, you may feel some slight irritation, similar to the snapping sensation of a rubber band hitting your skin. Most patients find this sensation to be quite tolerable.
  • No downtime: After GentleYAG®, you can immediately go about the rest of your day. In fact, some patients receive YAG® laser treatments on their lunch breaks!
  • Budget-friendly treatment: Like most cosmetic procedures, GentleYAG® is an investment. On the other hand, in comparison to more extensive treatments, laser skin rejuvenation is very affordable.
