Hello Friends!

Have you ever thought about undergoing upper face surgery, but were confused on whether or not to get a browlift or an upper lid eyelid lift (blepharoplasty)?  This is one of the most commonly asked questions in Cosmetic Surgery. It is often difficult to decipher, without the help of a physician, which one of these procedures is best suited for you.

The eyebrow of an average young woman is located slightly above the brow bone, but as we age, our eyebrows start to droop past the brow bone. An endoscopic browlift can give a more youthful appearance by raising the brow which in turn opens the eye area. An endoscopic browlift can also help decrease muscle activity which can cause wrinkles and other various lines in the brow area.  The endoscopic browlift uses small incisions and not the large long incisions of the previous techniques for lifting the eyebrows.

An upper eyelid lift is required when there is sagging skin and excess fat in the upper eyelid. As we age, our eyelids can begin to droop and obstruct vision. By removing the excess fat and skin, the eye appears to be more open and youthful. However, an eyelift will not influence the appearance of the brow.

An endoscopic browlift and an upper eyelift can be combined to obtain the maximum youthful result. If you are considering either of these procedures, the most important aspect is to find a physician who is skilled in both endoscopic browlift and eyelift procedures. Happy lifting!
