Rhinoplasty

The nose is possibly the single feature of the face that most strongly influences the effect of the whole. A nose that is misshapen, crooked, or oversized can throw the rest of the face completely out of balance. It is for this reason that rhinoplasty is such a popular and potentially life-changing procedure. Serving Little Rock, Arkansas and surrounding communities, Dr. Suzanne Yee performs rhinoplasty (nose surgery) that meets the very highest aesthetic standards.

The pricing below is for the surgeon's fee only, does not include OR and anesthesia fees.

Candidates for Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty is a good option for most basically healthy teenagers and adults who are concerned about the size, shape, or position of their noses. Nose surgery is also appropriate for individuals with a deviated septum or other structural abnormality that causes breathing problems. Girls should wait until about age 14 or 15 before having nose surgery to ensure that the nose has finished developing, while boys should wait a few years longer.

For patients who are considering rhinoplasty to address functional or cosmetic concerns with their nose, selecting a qualified facial plastic surgeon is of the utmost importance. Dr. Yee’s years of experience, specialized training, and artistic sense of balance make her the ideal choice in Little Rock, Arkansas for rhinoplasty.

To achieve the most satisfactory nose surgery results, you must embark on the procedure with a realistic idea of what nasal surgery can and cannot do. Based on the existing structure of the nose and its surgical history, certain goals may or may not be realistic. At our surgery center in Little Rock, Arkansas, rhinoplasty patients explore the benefits, risks, and limitations of nose surgery in detail. Following a joint decision by you and Dr. Yee to proceed with rhinoplasty, Dr. Yee will take photographs of you and discuss the options available. Just as there are many types of noses, there are many approaches to nose surgery. Dr. Yee will explain all of your treatment options during your consultation.

About Nose Surgery

The basic goal of nose surgery is to change the size, shape, or position of the nose. This may be accomplished by shaving away some of the internal supporting bone or cartilage of the nose, by removing soft tissue in certain areas, or by augmenting the nasal structures with artificial implants. Almost any part of the nose, from the nostrils to the tip and the bridge, can be modified during a rhinoplasty procedure.

Many nose surgery procedures can be performed through incisions completely concealed within the nose, eliminating the possibility of visible scarring. In some instances the procedure must be performed through external incisions, but the incision sites are always carefully located to conceal any scarring.

Nose surgery is a complex and lengthy procedure that is performed under general anesthesia. During the recovery period, patients experience some significant swelling and soreness, which can be controlled with medicine. These symptoms fade significantly within a few weeks of surgery, but it is common for some residual swelling to last several months. The final benefits of rhinoplasty may not be visible for up to a year.
