Breast Lift Benefits

Restore Pre-Pregnancy Perkiness

Pregnancy and breastfeeding can leave breasts stretched or saggy. A breast lift (also known as a mastopexy) can give your breasts a perkier appearance.

Reshape After Weight Loss

Breasts may appear flat after significant weight loss. A breast lift can remove excess skin, creating a more proportional shape while accentuating your new figure.

Better Clothing Options

Reach for the little black dress at the back of your closet: many women find that the newly contoured shape of their chest gives their clothes a more flattering fit. A breast lift may lead to greater wardrobe choices.

Improved Symmetry

Because breast lifts reshape the breast tissue, they can help adjust asymmetrical breasts and create a more balanced, symmetrical appearance.

Repositioned Nipples

When breasts sag, the nipples may point downward or sit below the natural crease where the breasts meet the chest. A breast lift can reposition the nipple-areolar complex and point the nipples forward again.

Reduced Irritation

Drooping breasts can lead to skin irritation and chafing due to friction and trapped moisture. A breast lift can remove the excess skin, putting an end to bothersome chafing.

Breast Lift With Implants

Women who breastfed or have lost significant weight often experience decreased breast volume, resulting in a flat, saggy chest. While a breast lift can reposition drooping breasts, it can't significantly change breast size or restore roundness.

Breast augmentation uses silicone or saline implants to restore this lost volume. Dr. Yee can create beautiful proportions and pleasing results by expertly combining these two breast enhancement surgeries.

For many women at our Little Rock practice, combining a breast lift with breast implants can achieve more comprehensive results than a stand-alone lift procedure, restoring both pertness and fullness to the bust.

The Breast Lift Surgery Procedure

Breast lift surgery is performed as an outpatient procedure at our Little Rock, AR, surgical center.

Combining a breast lift with implants can achieve stunning results, restoring both lift and fullness.

To ensure comfort, you will be administered general anesthesia.
Conventional breast lift surgery uses an anchor-shaped incision running from the bottom of the areola to the base of the breast and along the breast crease.
In cases of mild sagging, a periareolar lift may be performed. This uses a circular incision around the areola, resulting in minimal scarring.
At this incision site, Dr. Yee removes excess skin and breast tissue, reshaping the breasts for greater symmetry.
In some cases, liposuction is used to finely sculpt the tissue around the breasts.
If your breast lift is being combined with breast augmentation, saline or silicone breast implants will be placed.
To complete your breast lift procedure, Dr. Yee will reposition your nipple and areola so your breasts have an aesthetically pleasing and natural look.
After a breast lift, patients need to rest at home for about a week. While recovering, avoid bending over or otherwise straining the chest. Swelling and bruising should be expected, sometimes lasting a month or more. Most patients wear a support bra for several weeks after surgery. Heavy lifting and strenuous exercise should be avoided for at least six weeks.

Am I a Breast Lift Candidate?

You must meet certain criteria to qualify for a breast lift. You may be a good candidate for the procedure if:

  • Your breasts have lost shape or volume due to childbearing, weight loss, or the natural aging process.
  • Your breasts look flat or tubular, or they sag below the natural crease where the breasts meet the chest.
  • Your nipples point downward, or your areolas are enlarged.
  • You are in good general health. Some chronic or immunocompromising conditions may prohibit cosmetic surgery.
  • You are at least 18 years old (you must be 21 years old to combine your breast lift with breast implants).
  • You do not smoke, as this can impede healing and increase your risk for certain complications.
  • You are at a stable weight. Gaining or losing significant weight could interfere with your results.
  • You have realistic expectations for the results of this procedure. Dr. Yee will help you better understand what you can anticipate from your surgery throughout the planning process.

Breast Lift Cost

Like most cosmetic surgery procedures, breast lifts are not covered by insurance. Our practice believes everyone should be happy and confident in their body, so we offer low-interest financing through CareCredit® that helps break payment into manageable installments.
