A Mini Facelift Can Rejuvenate the Lower Third of the Face

Slack skin on the cheeks, a sagging jawline, and loose skin on the neck are all concerns we commonly hear listed during consultations at our practice. To address these concerns, Dr. Suzanne Yee offers mini facelift, a form of facelift, at our Little Rock office. Mini facelift targets the lower part of the face, and is a less invasive procedure than full facelift. Our practice is a certified anesthesia provider, ensuring your safety and complete comfort during your procedure. Dr. Yee also view cosmetic surgery as a combination or art and science - and important trait for a procedure that should only naturally enhance your beauty, rather than alter it. The Mini Facelift Procedure

During your consultation, Dr. Yee will discuss your aesthetic concerns with you, and determine whether the expectations of your treatment results are realistic. If you are more concerned with a low, furrowed brow, for example, she may recommend you consider a brow lift - an alternative type of minimally invasive lift procedure. Candidates for mini facelift should still have a good amount of elasticity in their facial skin to ensure the most natural looking results.

Unlike a traditional facelift, which restores contouring and tightness to the entire face, mini facelift targets only the lower portion of the face. Because the surgery is less invasive than full facelift, Dr. Yee is able to use small incisions that are located near the ears, that can easily be concealed in your hairline to minimize any visible scarring. Dr. Yee will access weakened, loose muscles through these incisions, and gently pull them tighter before removing any excess tissue and suturing them in to a higher position. The skin will similarly be tightened and repositioned for a more youthful, defined contour. Many of our patients choose to further enhance the results of their mini facelift with a non-surgical skin treatment once healing is complete.

The Importance of Choosing an Anesthesia Provider

Many new facelift techniques are designed to to allow doctors to forego general anesthesia. In fact, general anesthesia is an important part of ensuring our patients' complete comfort, health, and safety. Local anesthesia only can often result in complications and even pain during your procedure, oral medication may be difficult to monitor and patients may experience a persistent "hangover" if they are mistakenly over-medicated.

Properly monitored, general anesthesia is an extremely safe method of sedation. Our practice has board-certified anesthesiologists on-site, who will carefully monitor each patient whose procedure involves this type of sedation. General anesthesia not only minimizes discomfort associated with the surgery, but can also allow us to operate more quickly, and also lessen your recovery period.
