Are You a Candidate for JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus?
If you want to address deep nasolabial folds, marionette lines, or vertical lip lines, you may be a good candidate for JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus. To determine the suitability of the treatment, Dr. Yee will evaluate your skin and overall health. If you have an autoimmune disorder, or if your skin scars easily, injectable skin treatments may not be a good option for you. In addition, JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus is not appropriate if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or under age 18. You can enjoy optimal results if your skin still has some elasticity. For this reason, Dr. Yee typically recommends JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus for patients under age 65. In some cases, older patients have benefited from this treatment.
Note that JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus cannot correct sagging skin. Depending on the condition of your skin and other factors, Dr. Yee may recommend a facelift or other surgical procedure to achieve your goals.

Dr. Yee will inject the smooth hyaluronic acid-based gel under your skin. JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus gel contains lidocaine that will help to numb your skin during treatment. If needed, Dr. Yee can also administer a topical anesthetic so the injections will involve virtually no discomfort.
By injecting the material at varying depths, Dr. Yee can fill facial folds and increase overall volume in the treatment area. At the same time, you should avoid strenuous exercise, sun exposure, and alcoholic beverages for 24 hours. You may experience some minor swelling, redness, and sensitivity after your treatment. In most cases, these side effects will fade within a few days. Long-term risks following JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus injections are very rare.
