Minimize Facial Folds and Wrinkles with Long-lasting Radiesse®

Radiesse® is a next-generation dermal filler that can diminish the appearance of wrinkles, lines, and facial folds for a more youthful appearance. If you want to rejuvenate the area around your mouth and nose, Radiesse® may be a good option. After Dr. Suzanne Yee, MD, F.A.C.S., administers the injections, the smooth gel boosts volume to minimize the appearance of folds and creases. The gel also stimulates natural collagen production for long-lasting results. Over time, your body will absorb the gel, allowing the collagen to continue the natural healing process. It may also be used in certain areas of the body to increase volume and reduce the appearance of sagging. To learn more about Radiesse® treatment, contact our Little Rock practice today and schedule a consultation.

By boosting collagen production, Radiesse® provides lasting results. In fact, the effects of Radiesse® injections have been clinically proven to last for up to a year.

Is Radiesse® Right for You?

You may be a candidate for Radiesse® if you wish to address:

  • Smile lines
  • Marionette lines (lines extending from the nostrils to the corners of the mouth)
  • Chin wrinkles
  • Sagging skin at the corners of your jaw

To qualify for Radiesse® or any other injectable skin treatment, you must be in good overall health. Eczema, a history of skin cancer, autoimmune diseases, and other conditions may affect your candidacy for treatment. Dr. Yee will evaluate your health history to determine whether Radiesse® is right for you.

It is important to understand that Radiesse® is only effective in treating mild to moderate wrinkles. If you have severely sagging skin, you may be a better candidate for a facelift or other surgical procedure.

How Does Radiesse® Work?

Radiesse® gel contains microspheres of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA), which can immediately boost volume and smooth wrinkles. At the same time, the CaHA also promotes an increased production of collagen. Collagen, one of the main connective proteins in the body, retains moisture and helps to keep your skin supple. As you age, your body will produce less collagen. Skin will becomes less elastic, allowing wrinkles to develop. By boosting the amount of collagen in the treatment area, Radiesse® offers enduring results. In fact, the effects of Radiesse® injections have been clinically proven to last for up to a year. When the effects begin to subside, you can undergo additional treatments.

Benefits and Risks of Radiesse®

Radiesse® offers a number of benefits:

  • Radiesse® injections involve minimal discomfort.
  • CaHA is found naturally in the human body. Therefore, there is no risk of allergic reaction following Radiesse® injections.
  • There is virtually no recovery time after treatment, and you can return to work immediately afterwards. Nevertheless, you should avoid strenuous exercise and alcoholic beverages for about 24 hours.
  • Radiesse® is highly effective, and can significantly reduce lines and wrinkles.

Immediately after your injections, you may develop some minor swelling, bruising, and redness in the treatment area. Ice packs and non-prescription medications can help to ease this irritation. The side effects should begin to fade on their own within a few days. All injectable skin treatments carry a slight chance of infection. However, long-term risks after Radiesse® injections are extremely rare, especially with Dr. Yee’s years of experience and clinical skill.
